MIDNIGHT SMS WISH FIASCOS

I am pretty sure all of us here were excited about staying until 12 midnight  on the 31st of December or On Awrudu eves or on someone's birthday and sending that first message to him or her

OR

Expecting that message from him or her ....
Let me now ask you an honest question ... Do you still do it or expect it? Does that vigil have the same intensity like it used to have ?

Well , this is a personal opinion and should not in any case be generalized or attached to your own realities.

My answer to the above is NO. Not to/from best friends , relatives , favorite relatives , teachers , siblings , lovers ... Doesn't mean that I am anti-social or with an attitude. I do wish and reply. But I get the feeling that , the amount of wishes , replies , the speed of the replies and even the content of the wishes and replies have become parameters to judge human relationships. What do you think about it?

On the contrary , I believe that if you can wish or congratulate a person , face to face , even with a couple of genuine  words ( days or weeks or months after the event , whatever it may be) , that is still the best form of wishing.

  1. To be honest, I personally like to receive the first new year/birthday wish from my loved ones. From those people I love most. From those I am waiting to receive a message. There were times, I was hurt and felt bad when my expected person didn't wish me "FIRST" which I now see as something hilarious. (May be I'm matured now. Or may be I myself have lost interest in staying up till midnight just to type a message)

True that relationships cannot be measured via a text message sent at midnight. (Fun fact: many schedule the message to be send at midnight and sleep comfortably at their usual sleep time! :D)So, I agree with you, Naveen. A couple of genuine words face to face will make my day better, than a scheduled text message.

PS: I honestly admire the devotion, sacrifice and patience of my friends/ loved ones who stay/ stayed up till midnight to type a genuine wish for me every year. :)
